Happy Monday!

Here is what we did today.

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Layla.
Phonics: Today we started working on the "ar" sound! We sang the song and found all of the "ar" words in the song. Next we practiced writing it on the board and in the air. Next we made a list of "ar" words and used play-doh to make words.

Journal: I like warm weather because...

Lunch/Recess

UOI: Today we talked about construction workers! We made a web on the board of things they already know about construction workers. This is in brown marker. Next we read a book called "Let's meet a construction worker." Next we added what they learned from the book onto the web in green. Finally they became construction workers and made their own tool belts!

Arts night: We practiced our peter pan song.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we started talking about 3D shapes. First I asked the kids if they knew what a 3D shape was and they didnt know. Next I told them what is meant and talked about the difference between that and 2D shapes. After that we talked about each 3D shape and the features they had including faces, vertices and edges. Next we talked about the ways we could describe each of the shapes. Finally we found different objects in our everyday lives that are those 3D shapes. They did really well talking about 3D shapes!
