 Happy Thursday!

We had so much fun at Chudleigh's today! Here are some pictures from today!

Reminders:  

-          Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-          Please make sure that your child is wearing the proper shirt for winter. This is a long sleeve polo shirt and no short sleeves.

-          Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-          Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.

 

Day 34

Hello,

Here is what we did today!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Sahara
Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information
Art: Please see Ms. Kerr's blog for more information
Phonics: Today we started working on Oo. We sang a song, practiced writing it on the board and then made the letter out of play-doh.

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Today we started talking about going to Cudleighs Apple Farm! They are very excited. In our journals we talked about what they are going to do when they are at Chudleighs.
Unit of inquiry: Today we read a book called "Go away big green monster!". After that we made our own big green monsters! They had so much fun! We finished off the period by presenting some of the children's summative projects.

 

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we reviewed all of the patterns that we have been learning about so far. We talked about AB, ABC and ABCD. The children told me how many shapes/colours there should be in the core of each pattern and we identified some patterns together using counters. Finally, they completed a worksheet that had several types of patterns and they had to figure out what comes next. 
Daily Five: Today we did some silent reading to finish off our day!

Here are some reminders for our field trip tomorrow:


We are still going to Chudleigh's even though it may be raining.

- They may be outside while it is raining so ensure that they have rain gear on (coat, splash pants and boots).

- Please bring a disposable lunch they can throw out when they are done

- If they are have a lunch through the lunch program we will be back at approximately 2:10 so they will only need snacks for the day

- Please make sure they are in their full uniform

- The bus will be leaving at 9:00 so ensure that your child is here before then

Day 33

Happy Tuesday! 

Today we started the day with picture day and everyone smiled nicely and looked very intelligent with their uniforms on! I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out. 

Here is our day. 

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Julia. 

Phonics: Today we continued to work on the letter Gg. We practiced the song and made a list of words that begin with that letter. Next the students completed a worksheet on the letter Gg.

Journal: Today we talked about Halloween! They told me what they are going to be and then wrote about it in their journals. We have improved a lot on stretching out words on our own. I am so proud of them! 

Lunch/Recess

Unit of inquiry: Today we continued with our presentations and then read some Halloween stories together. 

French: Please see Mlle Jessica's blog for more information.

Math: Today we worked on sound and action patterns! The children were in groups and they made either a sound pattern or an action pattern with their group and then presented to the class! They had so much fun! 

Tomorrow is casual day and if you wish to have your child participate it is $2.00. 

Tomorrow is also the bake sale. The items will be between $1.00 - $2.00.
