Day 84

Hello,

Here is what we did today!

Music: Today we had an extra special music lesson! The kids had lots of fun.
Gym: Please see Mr. Slyk for more information.
Art: Please see Ms. Kerr for more information.
Calendar: Today our routine was completed by Alexa.

Phonics: Today we continued to work on "ie"! We reminded each other what sound it makes and why. They told me that "when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking!". Next the children were put into pairs and given two words with the sound ie in it. They had to sound out the words and think of as many sentences as they can. Next we came back to the carpet and read the words and thought of sentences for each one.

Lunch/Recess

UOI: Today we continued to work on feelings! We talked about what it means to have feelings and discussed if we could touch or see feelings. Next we made a massive list on the board of different feelings that we could think of. I was so impressed with what we came up with. Next I showed them several pictures and they had to determine how they were feeling and what made them think they were feeling that way. For example, the girl looks angry because she is folding her arms and making a mad face. As we went through the pictures we thought of more words to add to our list. They did really well!

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Today we worked on "ie" words. Each student had to come up with three words that have the sound "ie" in it and come up with a sentence for two of the words. They are doing really well on journal and starting to spell more words correctly. I am focusing on handwriting heavily to ensure they are writing neatly and that it is readable.

It was a great day!
