Here is what we did today!
Calendar: Today our routine was led by Maya.
Gym: Please see Mr. Slyk's blog for more information.
Phonics: Today we continued to work on the letter "Jj". They made a really good list of words that start with the letter "Jj" and spelt them together. Next we completed a worksheet to show our understanding of the topic.
Language: Today we practiced using our "Eagle Eyes". I read a book called ABC Canada. I left out a word on some pages and they had to use their phonics knowledge and the pictures to determine the words. They are getting really good at using our "Eagle Eyes"!!
Journal: Today we extended our unit of inquiry knowledge about summer and talked about what we like about summer. We wrote two sentences and they are really starting to improve!
Lunch/Recess
Unit of inquiry: Today we continued to talk about summer! We made summer trees using tissue paper! We talked about how trees in the summer are filled with lots of leaves!

Lunch/Recess
Math: Today we played the same game from yesterday and they are getting much better at using their fingers and mental math! Next we worked on the concept of "more or less". The students had two sets of pictures and they had to count the objects, write the number underneath the picture and circle the set that had "more or less". They were excellent at it:).

Humber Arboretum: Permission slips were handed out for a field trip to the Humber Arboretum to do snow shoeing and a nature walk! If you want to volunteer please let me know! It is first come first serve.
