Day 129

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Aashrith completed his chart today. Good work Aashrith!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Vishnu.
Phonics: Today we continued to talk about the "ar" sound. They talked with their partners to remember what "ar" words they can think of and then shared them with the class. Next they used flashcards with a partner. They sounded out each word and then made sentences with each word. They switched many times in order to get different words.

Journal: We started "At recess I like to..."

Lunch/Recess

UOI: Today we talked about being a veterinarian. We talked about what they knew before reading a book. This information is in brown. Next we read a book called "Let's meet a veterinarian". After that we added onto our web in black. Finally we completed some centers. Some kids read while some pretended they were veterinarians with stuffed animals! They had so much fun!

Maya was being an inquirer by asking how 

librarians know what books other libraries have!

Alexa was being an inquirer by asking how teachers know so much!

Zia was being an inquirer by asking why the police officer was wearing a headset!

Journal: Finished journal
Arts night: We practiced for arts night. The lyrics for the song are in the agendas so they can practice at home. Below is the video we are using. I have taken out a section of the song so look at the lyrics to match.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we reviewed the shapes we have been talking about and started talking about another one called a rectangular prism. Next I put a picture of all of them on the floor and real life pictures were handed out to the students and they look turns placing it underneath each picture. They had a lot of fun!

Book: Layla brought in a book today so we read it to the class. Thanks Layla!
