Day 122

Hello,

Here is what we did yesterday.

Layla reached the stars ten times yesterday! Good work!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Maia.
Phonics: Today we started working on the "qu" sound. We sang the "qu" song and found all of the words that have that sound in it. Next we practiced writing "qu" on the board and in the air. After that we made a list on the board of words that have that sound in it and used play-doh to make those words.

Journal: Today we wrote about what happened on the weekend.

Lunch/Recess

Language: Today we talked about sequencing. I read them the story of Jack and the beanstalk and then we used pictures to sequence the story.

UOI: Today we started talking about fire fighters! We made a list of what fire fighters are...can and have. Next we read a book called "Let's meet a fire fighter." After that we added additional information into our chart of what we learned. Finally we wrote letters to the fire fighters to say thank you and drew a picture.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we started a new unit! They did a pre-test on geometry to see what they know. This helps us to figure out what to teach them first!
Independent reading: They read silently
Daily Five: They practiced their spelling words using rainbow write!
