Hello,

Here is what we did yesterday.

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Ethan.
Phonics: Today we continued to talk about the "er" sound. We brainstormed a list of words verbally then used flashcards to practice sounding out words and creating sentences.

Journal: My favourite toy is my________ because....

Gym:  Mr. Slyk was away today at a track meet so we played octopus outside!

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Finishing journal
UOI: Today we talked about siblings! First we read a book about having a new baby sister and what it was like to be a good sibling. Next we made a list of people who were the oldest, middle, youngest or the only child. We also figured out what was the most popular in our class. Finally we talked about what it was like to be a good sibling and what we learned from the book.

Arts night practice: We are finished the song! Now to keep practicing!
Language: Today we talked about chunking! This is the concept of recognizing small words in other big words as to help them sound out words they do not know. They seemed to do well! It would be a great concept to reinforce at home when reading.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we talked about time and O'clock again. We did a matching game on the floor where multiple children came up and matched a clock to the correct time. They did fantastic! Next we drew hands onto blank clocks. They are really good at time so far!
