Happy Friday!

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Justin reached the stars thirty times yesterday! Great work!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Shreya.
Phonics: Today we did our show and share! Our presenters showed their object and spelt it on the board with me. Great work everyone!

Journal: We finished off our craft from yesterday and did some writing.

Lunch/Recess

The playground was open today! They had lots of fun!

UOI: We did another Mothers day craft!

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we practiced half hour on. The big clock and writing on the board.

Fire drill: Today we had a fire drill as a school! Even though we had practiced some people were screaming, not lining up and not listening. We had a talk after about how to behave in a fire drill.

ACTION

Action is a very significant aspect of the IB learning process. In the PYP Program, students will engage in 6 Unit of Inquiries (UOI) throughout the school year, with each unit being approximately 6 weeks long. During each UOI, 3 students from the class will be assigned as the “Action Stars”, which means that they are encouraged to use what has been learned and apply it to the “real world.” The purpose of this initiative is to help further knowledge about what has been learned within the classroom. Example: If we are learning about recycling, students might go home and tell you that they want to implement a recycling program with you at home, or they may do something simple like telling you that something you were throwing in the garbage may be recycled. Students who are not assigned this role for the current UOI being taught are still encouraged to show ACTION! Action comes in many forms; it might be something small to something very large, but as long as the children understand the concepts, action is important no matter the size!
