Day 53

Hello!

Here is what we did today! It was a very busy day!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Sahara.
Science fair: Today we presented our science fair project to the judges! They did really well and knew how the experiment worked and what happened throughout the experiment. I was really proud of them!
Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information.
Christmas concert: We continued to practice for the Christmas concert.
Phonics: We continued working on long Ee today. We had some problems as they had forgotten a lot of the words we came up with yesterday. Eventually their memories came back and  we were able to make a great list. I think they are getting the hang of the long Ee.

Lunch/Recess

Unit of inquiry: Today we started working on our summative project! They did really well. In order to determine their food for their project, they picked the category that their food came from out of a bag and then they chose a food from that category. That helped to ensure that we don't get repeats of the same food. Some people were able to finish all of the questions and some people did not get a lot done. As a result, we are changing the presentation day to Tuesday December 1st 2015. All of the children will be dressing as a farmer that day. I have put a sheet explaining this in their agenda bags today.

Lunch/Recess

Science fair: We went down to the science fair again to show off our presentations to all the other grades.

Journal: We used our knowledge of the long Ee to write two words that have a long Ee sound in it.

Reminders:

·         Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

·         Please make sure that your child is wearing the proper shirt for winter. This is a long sleeve polo shirt and no short sleeves.

·         Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

            ·         Please make sure that your child has hat, gloves and scarf as it is starting to get cold outside.
