Day 42

Hello!

Here is what we did today.

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Sahara.
Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information.
Phonics: Today we started working on the letter Ff. We sang the song, practiced the action and found all of the Ff's in the song. The children then gave me a list of words that start with Ff and they had a knew a lot! Next we practiced writing the letter Ff on the board and used our fingers to write it in the air. Next we used play-doh to practice writing the letter Ff.

Math: We took some time to review ABBA patterns as we had a bit of trouble yesterday. We did some patterns on the carpet and they were able to determine if the patterns were correct or incorrect. They seem to understand it more. They just need to remember that there are four shapes in the core of an ABBA pattern.

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Today we talked about what they did yesterday on their day off. Some spent it with their grandparents, some went to a Remembrance day parade and lots of more fun activities! It sounds like everyone had a great day off!
Unit of inquiry: Today we continued to talk about the wheat process, the steps from farm to table. We had a discussion about the various steps and what happens in each one while using an interactive activity online. Next they completed a sequencing activity on the wheat process. They really understand the wheat process! I am really impressed!
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we reviewed all of the patterns that we have talked about so far. Here is a list of patterns we talked about: AB, ABC, ABCD, AAB, ABB, AABB and ABBA. The children were able to provide me with examples of all of these patterns and identify the core. Next they completed a worksheet where they had to draw various types of patterns. They did really well but some had trouble with ABB. This is a pattern we will review tomorrow.

Daily Five: We ended the day doing our daily five routine.
