Day 41

Hello,

Here is what we did today!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Aydan.
Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information
Phonics: Today we continued to look at the letter Bb. We practiced the song, action together and then made a list of words that start with Bb. They made a fantastic list! Next they did a worksheet on the letter Bb.

Math: Today we worked on a new pattern called an ABBA pattern. We practiced our new pattern together on the carpet by making ABBA patterns together, finding the core of the pattern and determining if the pattern is correct or not. They had a hard time with this pattern as it means that there are two of the same pictures together as the core repeats again. For example,"A B B AA B B A" After doing many examples together, they seemed to understand the pattern better but we will continue to work on it on Thursday.

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Today we worked on how to be a good friend. Lately we are having trouble being a good friend to one another. As a result, we reviewed what a good friend. They told me that a good friend: helps, listens and cares for each other. I am hoping that we can remember this for the future!
Unit of inquiry: Today we continued to work on the wheat process. We read the book "The little red hen" again to help remind us about the steps in the wheat process. Next we made a booklet on the steps of how we start with wheat seed and end with eating cereal. The children had to fill in the missing word in the wheat process in their booklet to show their understanding of the steps to making cereal.
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

Assembly: As tomorrow is Remembrance day, we had a Remembrance day assembly that was put on by the grade 4's. They started off by telling us why we celebrate Remembrance day and the history behind it and ended up saying a poem called "In Flanders fields". Next with the help from the older students, the children wrote letters to veterans thanking them for what they did for us.

Hope you have a great Remembrance day tomorrow!

Miss. Ross
