Day 59

Hello,

Here is what we did today! 

We started off the day with a house game ! 

Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information. 

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Zia. 

Phonics: Today we talked about short Ee again. We made a list of words that have a short Ee sound together. Some people did really well and knew how to spell the words but some people are still having some trouble. 

Lunch/Recess

Unit of inquiry: We continued to talk about seasons today. We talked only about fall today. We started by using our five senses to describe fall. We made a long list! Next we filled out a sheet that had " I see... I taste...I hear..."etc. 

Christmas concert: We practiced on stage today!

Lunch/ Recess

Math: We talked about graphing again today. We reminded each other how we use a graph and how to do a tally. Next they did a worksheet on tallying hand graphing.

SJA is excited to announce that Year Ahead Day is happening again this year!  All SJA PYP students will be participating in this exciting event on Thursday, December 10th.   Year Ahead Day is a fun and interactive day for the students at SJA to spend a day in the class of the grade level ahead of them (example: SK students spend their day as Grade 1 students, Grade 6 students spend their day as Grade 7 students, etc.).  This is a great way for the students at SJA to get a glimpse into their future life at SJA!  Students can get to know the teachers, see their future classroom, and take part in activities they will be participating in next year. The students will be spending the day with Miss.Smith. 

Christmas concert!! There will be two shows this year! The flyer has been sent inside your childs agenda. Here is the flyer.

Reminders: 

·         Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

·         Please make sure that your child is wearing the proper shirt for winter. This is a long sleeve polo shirt and no short sleeves.

·         Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

·         Please make sure that your child has hat, gloves and scarf as it is starting to get cold outside
