Day 58

Hello,

Here is what we did today! Today our routine was a little messed up because of parent interviews starting early for specialists!

Gym: Please see Ms. Lovan's blog for more information.
Calendar: Today our routine was led by Alexa. Our good morning message was reviewing "the same and different". We did some examples together on the board and using people. Here is what we did.

Phonics: Today we worked on short Ee. We went over the song and the action for short Ee and found all of the short Ee's in the song. Next we made a list of words that have a short Ee in them! They thought of a lot of work! Here is what we did!

Journal: Today we used our knowledge of the short Ee sound and wrote about "three words that have a short Ee are: " They did so well! They were sounding out the words correctly and writing it neatly. I was so impressed! Keep up the good work!

Lunch/Recess

Christmas Concert: We practiced the song and dance with Ms. B's class today. We need to remember to always do our best!
Unit of inquiry: Today we talked continued to talk about the seasons. We sang the song we learned and talked about which months are in which seasons. Next I tested them on what they remembered! The words were on the board so it was also a lesson on recognizing how each month is spelled. Next we wrote about our favourite season, explained why and drew a picture. Here is some of the great work they did!

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we continued to work on graphing. We worked on properly tallying objects to put in a tally chart. Each time we see a picture we cross it off and put a tally mark in the chart. We did this for all of the pictures. Next we started at the bottom and graphed the number of tally's in the chart. Next we checked over our work to make sure that the graph matched the tally chart.

The math data management test will be December 7th 2015. This is a short unit and as a result, will be a short test. There will be a review sent home this week to practice.

Reminders: 

·         Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

·         Please make sure that your child is wearing the proper shirt for winter. This is a long sleeve polo shirt and no short sleeves.

·         Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

·         Please make sure that your child has hat, gloves and scarf as it is starting to get cold outside
