Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Julia reached the stars for the tenth time today! Good work Julia!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Julia.
Phonics: Today we started a new sound "ue". First we sang the song and found the words in the song with the "ue" sound in it. Next we practiced writing this blend on the board and in the air. After that we made a list of words with this sound on the board. Finally we used play-doh to make "ue" words.

Lunch/Recess

Arts night: We continued to practice our song. Some people are still having a bit of trouble with the lyrics so make sure you are practicing at home!
Language: Today we read an important book about bullying called "Stick and Stone". We sequenced the book verbally and then talked about what the book means, how we can be a good friend and not bully other people.

UOI: Today we started working on our summative for community helpers. We chose what profession we were going to be researching and started working on the other sentences. An explanation letter went home today.

Popcorn day!

Lunch/Recess

Spring Fundraiser: Today we reached over $4000 so we shaved Mr. Palumbo's head! Enjoy! Keep bringing in those pledges!

UOI: Today we talked about Earth day! First we talked about what a garbage collector/sanitation work does. Next read two books, one called "Earth day birthday" and the other was about sanitation workers. The kids learned what earth day was about, how and what they could recycle. They loved it!
Next I showed them two posters. One had pictures of items they could recycle and one was items they could throw in the garbage. Next I had them place items in the correct bin using the posters. Dance party: They had an amazing time dancing up a storm! Take a look!
