Day 113

Hello!

Here is what we did today!

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica's blog for more information.
Calendar: Today our routine was led by Sahara.
Phonics: Today we went over the sound "sh". We practiced the song and the action that goes along with it. Next we made a list of words on the board that have the "sh" sound in it. Next we used play-doh to create some of the words.

Gym: Please see Mr. Slyk's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

Art: Please see Ms. Kerr's blog for more information.
Math: Today we introduced the loonie! We went over what it looks like, how much it is worth, $1.00 or 100¢. Next we practiced counting loonies all together and figuring out how many cents that is. Finally we played a game. I split the children into groups of 3. I gave them each a piece of paper with a dollar amount on it. In their groups they had to figured out how many loonies they need to make that amount. They came to me and showed me their amount one group at a time. If they got it right, they received their easter treat from me. They all did really well! Finally we ended on counting various coins.

First they have to figure out which coin it is. Next they have to count in that amount.

Lunch/Recess
UOI: Today we continued to talk about being a mail carrier! They had so much fun. First they reminded me what a community and a community helper was. Next we talked about what a mail carrier does and what they wear. Next we did a few centres! One center was pretending to sort mail and deliver it to the people in our class. Another centre was writing letters. The final centre was reading community helper books. They had so much fun!

Report cards went home today. If you have questions let me know!
