Day 117

Hello,

Here is what we did yesterday.

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica's blog for more information.
Calendar: Today our routine was led by Bryce
Phonics: Today we started working on the sound "th". We sang the song together and found the words in the song that have a "th" in it. Next we made a list of words that have "th" in it. They made a great list! Next we used play-doh to make words with "th".

Journal: Today we wrote three sentences about "On the weekend I..."

Lunch/Recess

Journal: Finished writing our journals
Math: As we have a test on Friday we practiced counting coins. I put some coins on the board and students came up to count them. The students have to first figure out what coin it is and then count them accordingly.
UOI: As we have a special visitor in the afternoon, we prepared for the visitor by creating questions. We practiced being inquirers! I split the children into groups and gave them topics. Each group had to think about what they wanted to know about nurses. They thought of some great questions! Here they are!

Hello!

Here is what we did on Friday!

Kashish and Aydan reached the stars ten times on Thursday! Great job!

Calendar: Today our routine was led by Aydan.

Phonics: Today we did show and share on the sound "sh". The kids presented and then sounded out the words with me. Great work!

Spelling test: The marks will be handed back on Monday.

Gym: Please see Mr. Slyk's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

UOI/Journal: Today we did centers based on what we learned about doctors and nurses. Here is what we did. They had lots of fun!

1. Dramatic play: The children practiced being doctors and giving each other check ups.

2. Art: The students used cotton balls to make pictures with paint.

3. Journal: We wrote about what" doctors can...", " doctors are..." and " doctors have ..."

4. Listening to reading: The students listened to books using the audio centre.

Lunch/Recess

IB awards: Maya won the award for being open minded and Mr. Slyk gave her the aware for being caring. Maia got the award for being caring.
